Have you ever thought that a white paint could reduce the need for air conditioning? Air conditioning may be a blessing on hot days, but it’s also a major source of carbon dioxide emissions the world over. Researchers have devised plastic films and paints that can cool surfaces to a lower temperature than the surrounding air by radiating heat out into space.It can keep surfaces up to 18 degrees Fahrenheit cooler than their ambient surroundings ,almost like a refrigerator does, but without consuming energy.
