Some of you may have experienced a numb feeling in your teeth when you are eating nelli. Can you think of a reason for why this happens? Nelli contains Ascorbic acid which makes it an acidic fruit. When acids come in contact with your teeth the enamel in the teeth decays. Enamel is the outermost protective shell that cover the teeth. It covers the nerves and blood vessels inside the teeth. When the enamel decays the nerve-endings are exposed. Because of this we feel a numbness when eating Nelli.
