Do you know how noise cancellation works in Head Phones?

If you are a music lover you may be owning a branded headphone. In most of these headphone there is a feature called noise cancellation where the background noise is reduced. Do you know how noise cancellation works? One method of noise cancellation is that, the headphone is built from materials that can block out sound waves of higher frequencies. Additionally, the headphone creates a sound wave mimicking the incoming noise. But the created sound wave 180 degrees tilted which means created wave is an exact copy the incoming noise but it is upside down. As they are equals but opposites they cancel each other out in a process called destructive interference.
