If you have visited overseas by plane you may have experienced the tiresome experience of going through the airport security. When going through the airport security the first thing you do is sending your baggage through a scanner. Do you how your bag is scanned? The machine you send your bag is a X ray machine. Both high energy and low energy X rays are emitted from one side of the machine while there is a detector on the side. Objects absorb the low energy or high energy x rays based on their density. Then the machine generates an image based on the x rays that reach the detector. The image shows both the shape of the image and with the help of colors its density.
