Did you know a lobster’s blood is colourless?

Vidunenahawula Website (National Institute of Fundamental Studies)

Did you know a lobster’s blood is colourless but it turns blue when exposed to oxygen? The bluish tint of a lobster’s blood is due to the presence of copper found in the blue hemocyanin molecule in their blood. Air contains oxygen reacts with the copper present in the blood. Oxygenation causes a colour change the colourless Cu(I) to blue Cu(II).
