Do you know the shape of a raindrop?

We get a heavy rainfall these days. But do you know the shape of a raindrop? Does it look like a teardrop? The answer is no. Raindrops start to form in a roughly spherical structure due to the surface tension of water. As the raindrop falls, it loses the rounded shape. Since the air flow on the bottom of the water drop is greater than the airflow at its top, the raindrop remains curved on top and flattened on the bottom like a hamburger bun.
