Do you know why your voice changes when you have a sore throat?
Vidunenahawula Website (National Institute of Fundamental Studies)
When you have a sore throat the body produces excess mucus and swelling of the throat can occur. If your throat swells the vocal cords would thicken. These thick vocal cords would vibrate less creating a different-pitched sound. Also, the excess mucus produced coats the vocal cords making them difficult to vibrate which results in less sound being produced.
