Do you remember the fact about treating a bee sting using baking soda? Do you think using baking soda can relieve the pain if you been stung by a wasp? If so, you are wrong. The sting of the wasp contains a basic chemical. Therefore as baking soda is also a basic solution the neutralization reaction won’t happen. Using vinegar would help to ease the pain. Acetic acid can be found in the vinegar which gives acidic properties of vinegar. So, when you apply vinegar to the place where you’ve been stung the basic chemical in the sting is neutralized by the acidic property in the vinegar. This eases the pain. Therefore it is essential to identify the insect before going to treatment.
