Have you been in a situation where you are in a bus or a flight with a crying baby? Even if you are very tired you wouldn’t be able to sleep due to the crying baby. Even if you have no experience with babies it would still be hard to ignore the cry of the baby. Do you know the reason for this? It is mainly due to evolution. Researchers have found that when a baby cries two regions of our brain which is responsible for processing of emotion gets more active. This provokes a sudden surge of emotions through us. Also, it has found out that cry of a baby makes us more alert.
