Have you ever wondered why do we have that pink globular spot at the inner corner of our eye? That’s called the lacrimal caruncle.It contains both oil and sweat glands to keep the eye moist and protect it against bacteria. Have you noticed that there’s a tiny hole on the margins of the eyelids? That’s the lacrimal punctum which convey the tears into the nasal cavity. Now you may know why your dry nose gets wet when you’re crying.
