How do you think a photo of a black hole was taken?

The 10th of April was a victorious day for all the physicists and astrophysicists from around the globe. This is due to the release of the first real image of the black hole. This black hole is situated in the Galaxy Messier 87. This black hole resides 55 million light-years from Earth and has a mass 6.5 billion times that of the Sun. But how do you think this image of the black hole was taken? Scientists linked 8 ground based radio telescope and these telescopes gathered data from the black hole. These collected data has been assembled to form the image of the black hole.
