All of you may have experienced the fever. When you have fever sometimes you may feel cold and shiver. Explain why do you shiver and feel cold when having a fever.
You get fever due to a fever inducing substance named pyrogens. As pyrogens moves through your body it affect your hypothalamus. Hypothalamus is the organ responsible for regulating your body temperature. Pyrogen signals the hypothalamus to raise your body temperature. Therefore, though you feel hot the body tries to generate heat through process like shivering, goosebumps, and blood vessel constriction to continually raise its temperature. It also employs you in the process by making you feel cold, making you wrap blankets to feel warmer.
