Why bananas are curved shape?

If I asked what shape are bananas you would answer that they are curved shape. Explain the reason for this shape.
Bananas do not grow towards the ground like most fruits instead they grow towards the sunlight. The reason for this is negative geotropism. The negative geotropism is the tendency of some plants to grow in a certain direction opposite to the force of gravity. Initially bananas grow downwards, like the other fruits. Then it starts growing towards the sun, making them curved.
