Do you know how to check the pulse?

Keep your index and third fingers on the inside of your other hand’s wrist below the base of your thumb. Do you feel small thumps? Do you know what these small beats you feel are? It is called the pulse. When your heart beats and pumps blood, they travel through the blood vessels known as arteries. When your heart contracts the blood flows through the arteries making the arteries expand. When the heart rests, blood flow is reduced making the arteries contract. These rhythmic expansion and contraction are the small beats you feel.
