Did you know the world’s smallest guitar is about the size of a human blood cell? A miniature guitar made out of crystalline silicon, 10 microns long with six strings that are each about 100 atoms wide. The guitar strings can be made to vibrate by tiny lasers using an atomic force microscope. Isn’t it amazing bringing microelectromechanical devices to a new, even smaller scale the “nano-sized world”?
