Why smart phones have a blue light filter?

In the modern world almost everyone a has computer, mobile phone, with them and most of them spend their time staring into them. Normally, from these devices all 7 colors are radiated and blue is one of them. If you check your smartphones most of you would find a blue light filter. But why is there a blue light filter? High energy blue light scatters more easily than other visible light, it is not easily focused. Computer screens and other digital devices emits significant amounts of blue light. Prolonged exposure to this unfocused blue light can cause eye strains.
